Artful Yalecrest Restoration
Salt Lake City, UT - Yalecrest
An eclectic art collection set the direction for this 1930s Tudor in Salt Lake City’s Yalecrest neighborhood. The owners wanted a home that respected its original architecture and reflected their personal taste, in a house that had lost much of its distinctive character.
Roberts & Lamb designed the whole home as a series of deliberate contrasts — curved forms against crisp lines, modern lighting alongside vintage pieces, and richly veined stone paired with understated cabinetry. The original arched doorways stayed, and their curves repeat throughout. All of the millwork is new, designed to suit the home’s style and period.
The kitchen was enlarged and reconfigured, with DeVOL pendants handmade in England over the island. The dining room was reoriented to the yard, with a redesigned fireplace wall, larger windows and a full-span sliding glass door. In the primary suite, the bath gained space from the bedroom and now joins the dressing area.
The home was shown in the 2026 Salt Lake Parade of Homes, where it won Best Interior Design and Best Curb Appeal, among other awards.
